Our consultancy was requested as part of the reinforcement project of the Gorani Tower, the last surviving fragment of an ancient noble palace in the heart of Milan. Our research and study aimed at retracing the history and construction events of the building complex, paying particular attention to the events that most directly involved the tower. The research on the archive sources led to the reconstruction of the complex layout at the different historical thresholds, highlighting the changes made to the older structures over time.

The data that emerged from the archive research were put in relation with what emerged from the stratigraphic reading of the tower facades. The construction events that inevitably marked the layout of the still existing structure were an essential premise for the diagnosis and consolidation design choices.
